Frank accepts custom orders and will guarantee current prices and a reasonable turnaround time. As of October 1, 2015 the price of his 4-string violins/fiddles will start at $5,000 and his five-string fiddles will start at $6,000. Visit the current Fiddle Showcase to see some examples of his instruments.
Each of Frank’s instruments are hand crafted using a basic Stradivarius, Guarnerius or Maggini pattern, but he prefers the Guarnerius pattern. He uses his own graduations and a piece of old piano ivory by the string nut. The ivory is a family trademark started by his father, Sam Daniels. Matching wood chinrests are used if requested.
Frank uses various wood types for his instrument backs: Silver, Big Leaf and Quilted Maple; Carolina Poplar, Sycamore and Mrytlewood (when available). Frank uses Engelmann Spruce that he cuts near McCall, Idaho or Colorado Engelmann Spruce that he purchases from Simeon Chambers for his instrument tops.
